The Queen's Meme-Goodwill Rocks!

The Queen's Meme #15 ~ The Shopping Madness Meme

Welcome to The Queen's Tuesday Meme #15
Sometimes silly. Sometimes serious.
Always fun!
Step out of the box. Be creative.
Use your imagination.
No one's answers are quite like yours.

This meme is called
The Shopping Madness Meme (aka The Naked Mannequin Saga)

1. What is favorite item to shop for and why?
I love to peruse Second-Hand stores in search of The Famous Bargain! I once found a rare Fenton Jadite Leaf Plate in Salvation Army for $1.00!
2. Quality vs. Price. Will you buy off-brand replicas at a discount store or must you have the real thing? Why or why not?
I prefer to find the original "real" thing is a vintage store where everything has its own past and its own story.

3. Have you ever asked a sales clerk to remove something from display if it is the last one in the store? Tell us what special something would make you strip the clothes off a mannequin.
(which begs the question...Are all mannequins born naked?)
OMG, my Queen! Stripping mannequins? Is that anything like tipping cows? Pray tell! And surely if the merchant had only a dusty display he'd better find a new one before the sun sets!

5. I really don't care if a guy goes shopping with me. I'm in my own zone and always have a plan. Are you an alone-shopper or would you like to have company?
Heavens! What Lady in her right mind would allow a gentleman to accompany her to her seamstress? Scandalous!
6. Have you ever done anything other than actually try on clothes in a dressing room? (I have no idea why this question followed the previous one. Ahem.)

Oh, for shame, my Queen! I rest my case! Me thinks thou knowest too much of gentlemen in dressing rooms!
7. Do you like or do you get annoyed when salesclerks and store management follows you around asking "May I help you?" a million times? (I have no idea why this question followed the previous one.)
As you know, I have my own dungeon to house these skulking beasts!

8. Create your very own store-brand name. (ie; Toys 'R Us, WalMart) What would YOUR establishment's name be?

Place the name on this sign. When we are finished with this meme, I'll put them all together and we'll have our very own shopping mall.
If you don't know how to write on this from your computer, go to imagechef.com and find it in the "signs" category. It's simple.

And please, for the of all things plastic, stay out of the dungeon. It's almost Christmas!

The Queen's Meme-Magic or The Gift?

Welcome to The Queen's Meme #14
Sometimes silly. Sometimes serious.

This meme is called
Do you believe in magic?

It's all about those things we can't explain, things that go bump in the night, and other freaktacular occurrences. In this crazy world of ours, what's normal anyway??! We'll even talk about sparks of a pleasurable kind....if you dare. And since I'm in a daring mood, let's get started. Good luck. And please, try to stay out of the dungeon this week.
It's getting cold down there this time of year.

1. Tell us about your superstitions. Do you have any? Do you "x out" black cats on the windshield of your car, avoid cracks in the sidewalk or practice other rituals that make you feel safer?

Don't have any? Come on now! Make up some....
Believe in yourself and your Higher Power and you will never fear the ravages of those entities that would harm you.
2. Has anything paranormal ever happened to you that you can write about?

Few will believe that my beloved husband has visited me frequently in the 3 years since his death. But I can prove these breath-taking and powerful events...

3. Have you ever had a near-death experience?

Care to share?
In recent times, I have been close to death twice in a year. Yet never had the near-death experience. My belief in not experiencing is this: I did not require it for deep in my soul I know what the Other Side is about; I know the glorious colors and buildings and the richness of life beyond the Veil. I cannot remember now, yet I KNOW. Upon my return, I shall recognize that I am now and forevermore, truly Home.
4. Pheromones...aka "love fireworks" (I think I remember those)...are a force to be reckoned with. Do you believe that two people can have an uncontrollable chemical reaction to each other? How do you know this to be true?

Pheromones are the body's reaction when two souls recognize each other. It well and truly exists for I have experienced it with my beloved.

5. Do you believe that modern day witches can put spells on people?

If so, who would you like to hoodoo and why?
Wiccan is a recognized and misunderstood religion and those who are members believe in a Higher Power. "Hoodoo" is so cliche. See my answer to Number 1.

6. ESP! What do those letters stand for in your life?

Ah! ExtraSensory Perception! The 60's and 70's "paranormal" and "psychic". To me? Great gifts we all have if only we recognize them.
7. Do you ever hear strange noises in your house?

If so, what do they sound like?

Knocking on walls, the bookshelves at the head of my bed, footsteps, thumping at the foot of my bed. Many of these after asking. Communications.

8. Tell us about a time you "knew" something was going to happened before it did. Are you one of those intuitive types or do you know someone who is ? Do tell.

Many times I have known the phone was going to ring and who it would be. And "known" by the way the ring sounded.

9. I'm a tad gifted in the dream department. Really. Sometimes my dreams are prophetic and come true. It can be a blessing and a curse. Has this ever happened to you? If not, would you like to have this gift? (Be careful what you wish for. It can be freaky at times.)

Colonial rocking chair - $169 Pictures, Images and Photos
Many of my dreams are lucid dreams where I recognize that I am dreaming. My grandfather has visited me this way. He sits in a rocking chair in the corner of my mind and I leave my dream to go to him. When the visit is finished I return to my dream. Still other dreams are actually astral visits. One night before going to sleep I asked God to allow an astral visit to meet my husband. I remember grabbing Ron's face and squeezing it, deliriously happy and shouting, "God said, 'Yes!'" That was one of the most moving experiences of my life! I still get tears in the remembering!

The Queen's Meme-Peace

[TheQueensMemeLogoa.JPG]

1. How do you find your own personal peace/nirvana?
It has taken most of my adult life to get to where I am now, finally realizing that no peace can begin unless it begins within. But to me peace and nirvana are two widely different entities. Peace is God-given and God-driven; nirvana is of the earth.
2. Where do you go to find respite and solace?
Is there a particular place, city, country, room in your house?
My home is my sanctuary. It's where I return to get my bearings, to communicate with my God, to renew my spirit. I feel safe here.
3. Who is the most peace-loving person you know? What makes them so?
I cannot truly say that anyone in my wide circle of friends, relatives or acquaintances is the most peace-loving. In this day and age, I look to Gandhi and Mother Teresa. Though gone now, their influence lives on.
4. What do you do when your inner peace is threatened?
Do you have a strategy, a routine, religious faith, a mantra......to calm yourself down?
I repeat over and over, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me".
5. What is your favorite comfort food?
Cheesecake
6. Do you have a pet that brings you happiness and peace? If not, what type of animals bring you peaceful thoughts?I do not own a pet nor does any animal bring me peaceful thoughts.

7. What is your favorite peace song?

"Blowin In The Wind"
8. Did you post a peace globe on November 5th and participate in BlogBlast For Peace?

If so, please repost your peace globe here with a link to your peace post so that the Queen's players can enjoy it. If not, join in! It's not too late. Here's how.
