White Deer
While there is an abundance of the normal brown whitetail deer (Odocoileus virginianus) to be seen, we also have something a little unique; white deer. This coloration is not very common and is often confused with the albino. This deer will have white fur all year round, but will not have the pink eyes, nose, and hoofs of a true albino. They are white due to a recessive gene.
I never seen a white deer-wish we had them around here! Happy WW
ReplyDeleteWe saw one once, I don't believe he/she was quite as white, but next to a brown deer, it was white!this is such a beautiful deer, I'm so glad I was able to see it, thank so much for sharing it for WW, it's perfect! Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
