Happy Pink Saturday!

This week one of our participants, Valrie would like to inspire you and enlist your help in her project of baking and mailing cookies to our troops. Valrie's son is currently stationed in Afghanistan. Here is the information I received from Valrie. Please go visit her - and hopefully help to send our troops some love from home.

White Deer

While there is an abundance of the normal brown whitetail deer (Odocoileus virginianus) to be seen, we also have something a little unique; white deer. This coloration is not very common and is often confused with the albino. This deer will have white fur all year round, but will not have the pink eyes, nose, and hoofs of a true albino. They are white due to a recessive gene.

Pink Saturday-Prepare For A Miracle!

Dear Pink Saturday Friends:

Many of you will remember when Beverly and I co-hosted a comment party for Colette Gauthier who was suffering with cancer. She had moved into a tiny and dismal rental home. You all commented and my foundation Design Gives Back donated a dollar for each comment. Well, as the Inspired Home expert for Guideposts Magazine, I took a crew up to Michigan in the midst of winter to perform a "Miracle Makeover" and create a healing room for her to recover in throughout her treatment. The story is in the September Guideposts Magazine and the Miracle Makeover video is coming out too. It is deeply inspiring. A must see. And it all started with your comments, thoughts, and prayers!!!! The Pink Saturday bloggers are even in the credits.

To celebrate the power of "creative miracles" Saturday August 28 will be a Pink Saturday Miracle Party! We want you to share in the joy and inspiration! Please dedicate your post to sharing an uplifting story, picture or other inspiring idea. Also, we ask that you post about the Guideposts story and video. We would love for the video to go all over the internet. It is amazing and Colette shines! You have to see the room to believe the transformation. It brings HOPE. Colette was given a 5-15% chance of survival. You can see her story in the reveal.
